Shalom Everyone,
I am a 54-year-old female backpacker from the US. I'm hoping to start a thru-hike of the INT, north-bound from Eilat, the first week of March. I usually hike alone but have seen warnings not to do so in the Negev. My experience does not include this kind of desert. I have backpacked in different areas on the east coast of the US and, this past summer, spent a few weeks in California's Sierra Nevadas. I'm hoping to average 8-10 miles a day on the INT but have no idea if this new environment will make me slower or faster.
This hike is a special dream. Anyone want to join me for all or part of the Negev? I speak a basic Hebrew. Any advice?
Thnks for any help.
