i am considering hiking a significant part of the shvil this summer.  My plan is to start at kibbutz dan and see how far i can get; hopefully at least to haifa, but maybe beyond.  a lot depends on how hot it is.  I want to do a serious hike, but with some options to take some time off along the way.  i may also have a car for logistic purposes.  any interested?  i am a 40 something year old teacher;  i speak hebrew and have done lots of great hiking in the past.
