Do we need a tent??

Me and my friend is planning on doing the trail in the end of April. From the south to the north, to avoid the overwhelming heat in the negev later on.

We where then talking about, if it really is necessary to bring a tent consider us walking in may-june?? Or will it be fine only to bring a sleepingbag and a mat, and then take the occasional rain just as a wet night??

Really nice site this!! -And looking forward to take a look at the english guidebook :)

At this time of the year you don't need a tent.

No need for a tent. You are not likely to exprience many rainy days (if any). Perhaps, just a few mosit mornings because of dew.

Tent offers some protection from mosquitoes bites, but this can be dealt with in other (lighter) manners.

Enjoy your trip!

Re: Do we need a tent??

A tent will give you privacy, protection for your gear from small animals (and humans...), protect you from sudden rain, from morning dew, (hate waking up in the morning with a soaking wet sleeping bag),at  least -take a tarp.
