Re: distances

Hey, Bradley -- it's great to see you on the site.

I've been awfully busy with other stuff lately, but in the coming days/weeks I want to put up a list of distances like you've asked for. It would be a good general resource for a lot of hikers. I'll have to translate from the INT guidebook, though. Not a big deal, but there's a lot of info to wade through.

Others might be able to correct me if I'm wrong, but the last number I heard for the entire trail was 920 km. It changes, of course, every time they change part of the route because of construction or other concerns.

Re: distances
great. the INT data project looks incredible. when you get that finished that will be the best resource. i hear there are guide books in english coming out in jan or feb. just in time. i believe i am leaving on the 26th of march - still depends on knowing how many days it will take to get to jerusalem. i was planning 25 - 30 kms a day - but read that one guy took 8 hours to do 12 kms in the desert - so am i being over ambitious?
setting up a website now to raise money for kids in beit hayeled and my orphanage in malawi. any way i can help you guys let me know. do you have contacts at the SPNI?

Re: distances

Bradley --

Any news about your hike? Still heading out on the 26th? Right now it looks like a bunch of us might be on the INT in March as well, but probably down in the south. Maybe we'll cross paths, though, at some point. BTW, regarding distances, you might take a look at Acorn's post in the general INT forum if you haven't already.
