Three miscellaneous questions...

One--You mention not carrying folding knives. I have a tiny 1 1/2" long swiss knife that's been an essential item in my pack. It's got a tiny scissors to clip broken nails, toe nails, ect. It's got a tiny tweezer to pull out splinters. And it's got a pathetically dull knife good for cutting thru plastic wrappers on food items, or other goods one might buy. Do I really have to leave this at home? Couldn't I try to "hide" it in my pack, even putting it in one of the metal tubes, and use it once I get there?

Two--When mentioning changes to the trail, any chance you could refer to page # and paragraph # in your guidebook? I spent an unbelievable amount of time trying to figure out where exactly some of these revisions need to be updated in the guidebook, going by the information you provide on this web site.

Three--Voltages...I will need to be able to charge video batteries while there. What sort of converter or transformer will I need in order to plug my battery charger into a wall?

Thanks--binny

Re: Three miscellaneous questions...

Tiny knife - I guess it's OK.

Voltage in Israel - 220 v 50 hz.

Changes to trail - The web site to look for changes is mentioned in the guide: www.i-sys.co.il

Re: Three miscellaneous questions...

woops---that's an all-hebrew page! I'm only an english reader. Any other option or do I just continue using the updates you provide on this web site? It's just that I found it tough to exactly link the description on this web page with what was written in the book. Maybe I just chose one that was particularly thorny and the others are more straight-forward?

If I ever make it over there, believe you me the effort will be worth it, as I'm planning to shoot a video of my thru-hike!

Oops , it's and Englsh and Hebrew site.

At the home page you have: Israel National Trail  just click on the English title (not the Hebrew one) and you'll get to Guide updates

As for the video please let me know your e-mail address.
