Golan Trail

There is a continuous trail that runs the length of the Golan Heights on an north-south axis, starting from a point that is parallel to Tiberias, and continuing to the parking lot at the base of the Mt. Hermon ski area (with another trail that goes all the way to the peak).  The INT doesn't go on the Golan at all, so this trail provides a nice addition.  I'm planning to hike the Golan Trail south-to-north, climb Mt. Hermon, then descend from there past Nimrod to Dan to pick up the official start of the INT.  Here are some links, and it also appears on the newest Hebrew hiking map (#1):

The official site (in Hebrew, with maps of each of the 15 sub-sections):

Ashen,

This is not related to the Golan trail.

If you speak and read Hebrew, why don't you save me some time, and look for info. in the hebrew forum

10X,

Yankale

Re: Golan Trail

Yankle, I don't understand your comment - can you clarify?  What is not related to the Golan Trail?

I'm guessing you might mean that the entire forum is not related to the Golan Trail.  However, the category in which I placed this post was "Other trails in Israel," which would seem to be appropriate.

Please let me know what you meant.

Thanks.

My comment about "Hebrew language" is not related to the Golan trail.... your post definitley does.

One very important issue to note about the Golan trail: Never try to hike off the marked trails. The Golan has several areas with old mines and they are usually well marked, but still it is dangerous to hike off trail.

The best season to hike the Golan trail is spring or to be more presice March and April. Cherry tree blossom can be observed in March in the northern part of the trail.
